Home’s History
This grand residence known as the Gillette House was constructed in 1908, located in the heart of Greenwood, Mississippi.
It was built by Stage Marye, a prominent local businessman and once mayor, who drew inspiration from the showboats that sailed the nearby waters of the Yazoo and Mississippi rivers.

Reflecting its Neo-Classical Revival architectural style, the house stands out with a distinctive hipped roof and a one-and-a-half-story frame.
Originally, it was one of the most splendid homes in the Delta, symbolizing the opulence and grand architectural gestures of the era.

Today, the Gillette House spans 5,177 square feet and contains five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It sits on approximately 0.87 acres of land.

Despite its age, the home retains much of its original charm, including beautiful woodwork, ornate mantels, solid oak doors with egg and dart trim, and hardwood floors throughout.
A notable feature is the large wrap-around porch, providing stunning views of the river, particularly from the second floor.
