
EasyJet has suspended one of its pilots after he was seen wandering a luxury hotel in Cape Verde drunk and naked in the early hours. The unnamed captain, who was scheduled to operate a flight back to Gatwick, was grounded following complaints about the incident, and a replacement pilot was found.
Incident at Luxury Resort
The pilot, who had arrived at the Melia Dunas Beach Resort and Spa in Cape Verde the day before, reportedly spent hours drinking at the hotel bar. Around 2:30 AM local time, hotel guests witnessed him walking through common areas of the resort without clothes, reportedly reeking of alcohol. He was seen moving from the reception area to the gym and spa in this state, according to reports.
Immediate Suspension and Investigation
Upon learning of the incident, EasyJet immediately suspended the pilot and launched an investigation. The airline emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew was its top priority. The pilot had been scheduled to operate a flight on August 6, but was replaced with another pilot.
